KALOMO TOWN COUNCIL ADOPTS K131.3 MILLION BUDGET FOR 2026

Kalomo Town Council adopted a total budget of K131,360,483 for the 2026 financial year during a Special Council meeting held today. The approved budget represents a 9 percent reduction from the 2025 approved budget of K144,906,902, following adjustments in projected revenues.
The Own Source Revenue (OSR) budget for 2026 has been set at K7,646,237, marking a 16.5 percent decrease from the K9,205,027 allocated in 2025. The reduction is largely attributed to lower projected plot premium revenues, which were comparatively higher in the previous financial year.
For the 2025 financial year, Kalomo Town Council projected total revenues amounting to K144,906,902, consisting of K9,205,027 from Own Source Revenue and K135,701,875 from Central Government transfers and cooperating partners.
As at 30th September 2025, the Council recorded total actual collections of K73,127,276, representing an overall budget performance of 50 percent.
Own Source Revenue collections stood at K6,623,416 against a target of K9,205,027, translating to a 72 percent collection efficiency. Meanwhile, receipts from Central Government transfers and cooperating partners amounted to K66,503,860 out of a budgeted K135,701,875, reflecting a 65 percent performance level.
